Yikes....I really want to drink tonight. Don't know where this came from all of the sudden but it is very strong.

Just keep your eyes and mind on the prize. If you drink you will have to get over the negative self loathing and all the other crap. You stay sober you wake to another beautiful day like today, full of hope and promise. Not dt's and feeling like crap. I will be praying for you.

Yeah, day four used to kill me. I felt good, I was back to normal, so of course I could drink again. Man that was awful I went through it for years.

As Navy stated, think that first drink through to the end, and the misery it'll bring.
Keep occupied, so anything to keep busy and remind your self you just don't have to drink for today.

Best to you.

Think the drink through 4mykids.

Do something distracting that you know will make you happy (not booze!).

I always found lots of tea and sugary things helped me too.

I hope it passes soon x

You don't really want to drink in the least because you know it has become a bad bad thing for you. It is the voice of your addiction talking to you, not you. And you don't have to do what it says. Stare at it (Think the drink through / Play the tape to the end / Be mindful of your emotions) and it will slink away. I think it actually gets embarrassed.

I'm on Day 5 and just had that feeling a few hours ago. I immediately closed my eyes and remembered as best I could how horrible, defeated, and guilt-ridden I felt last after WAKING up from a night of booze and cigarettes. I was red-faced, bloated, foggy, looked 5 years old, etc. At that time, I vowed "never again", as I have so many hundreds of times. I'm sick of repeating myself. So then I opened my eyes and ATE. For me, at least, food destroys the cravings. Try it. And good luck. Project in to the future about the prospect of starting AGAIN. Sounds miserable doesn't it? And look in the mirror. Even after a few days, I tend to look a good bit younger and healthier.

Cravings are part of what makes us alcoholics, not giving in and finding helpful resorces and hope is part of what makes us sober. Hang in, hang on.
