My parents are noticing

My mom said yesterday, for the second time this week, how her and my dad are so proud of me and how it is like having the "old Ann" back. It felt so good to hear and to know that my changes are so obvious, bc I feel changed inside as well.

So much in my life is different after only 85 days sober and clean. I yell less, I goof off with the kids more, I have WAY WAY less anger. I got hit my a Mack truck last week and we are now down to one car until it gets fixed and I stayed calm through the accident, the many insurance phone calls, etc. Before, I would have freaked out!! I don't yell at the kids anymore for no reason, I answer the phone when people call, I even call people on the phone now, I am picking up more shifts at work (my husband is looking for a teaching job and I was so pissed that he wasn't making money that to 'show' him I was passive-agressively refusing to work more shifts)- and I'm not resentful about it.

Life is pretty darn good

This is actually a big one- I hated talking on the phone- seemed like such a worthless effort to go through. I would text, but that is not the same as connecting voice to voice. I am getting better at it.
