Smile Day 5..I made it through the night

Good morning everyone. I am proud to say I made it through last night without picking up. I owe it to all of you kind people and a few hours spent reading the boards. Now I get to battle it all day again. Oh well. It'll be worth it

Good for you! Way to go!

I feel the same way you do. I'm new to recovery and every day is a struggle.

Yeah it sucks right now all I wanna do is call my guy and line up a big fat rail of oxycodone. But, I can no longer make such bad decisions if I ever want to better myself. Hang in there, it's going to get better for both of us!

I too am on day 5... suboxone detox for me, but I can't tell much of a difference from any other opie detox. Anyway, days 3 and half of 4 were absolute hell... but the wave broke yesterday afternoon and I had a pleasant, relaxing, evening. I am keeping a daily blog of my progress on this site (click the link under blog posts under my name), if anyone wants to follow.

Congrats to us on 5 days sober! Day 5 for me is going much better than the past 2, although its still no picnic.

Way to go, 30s! It really does help to stay close to SR - that's how I got through the those first days. Hope things turn the corner soon and you start to feel a little better with each day!

A day is just a day. You have so many more of them. Just spend this day doing other **** and forget about it. I bet you feel better already. Take a breath. Doesn't that feel nice? Stick with it!

It does feel better but after receiving my pay sheet for Friday a minute ago it's so depressing I just want to get high and forget about it. 700 dollars for two weeks working 50-60 hours a week. Not worth my time.

Hang tough! Be proud tomorrow that you didn't fix today. Hell, be proud today you didn't fix today. Breathe. Save the money you would have spent and do something fun when you're feeling up to it?

Good job 30's. You'll feel better as you get more clean time behind you. Be very proud of this accomplishment & don't get discouraged. We all understand how hard it is in the early days.

You not only got the $700. You also got a reason to be proud of self. You should hold your head high . . . No shame in what you are doing now.

Day 5 means you're almost done with the nightmare physical part of the withdrawal, that's awesome!
Why don't you try some relaxing herbs like valerian, passionflower, kava, this kind of stuff? It won't get you high but it can definitely help, at least to sleep.
