1st time, new here
This is the first time I have ever reached out for help. This site looks very positive with real people and real answers and that's what I need. I have been trying to "control" my drinking but it ends up with me failing. 1 glass of wine turns into 2 bottles. I never thought I would be this way. I feel like a failure. I want to do good I want to be strong. I hate the craving and I hate myself for giving in. I know deep cown I am strong.

I too loved wine. I tried to moderate my consumption last summer. This summer I decided to try something different, since moderating wasn't working too well. I've found, for me, it's actually easier to quit altogether.
I enjoy this site and try to learn a thing or two each day. Keep posting - you can do this.

Welcome! You sound like a great many of other folks here. Read through and you will see a lot of yourself in these posts. I see myself in your post. Never thought I would be this way either. Best wishes.

You sure have found a great site, keep coming on reading and posting. I know your feelings I went down that road for decades. You really can live free of that way, and know your not a failure because your here. The only fail in this disease is death.

anything less wouldn't get me to where i wanted to be--ugh.

It feels good to know there are other people out there that are like me. I always thought in my head wine wasn't alcohol. In my family I have alcoholics and they always drank hard alcohol. But after 7 years of this pattern I have realized I am no better I just am aw to function better. I need to change for my health. I am sure this site will be a huge help for me. I am shocked that I can even admit it. Bless u all.
