It's Friday, I'm in love!
Now that's a great song!
Not sure after 12 days of sobriety (and counting) that I'm necessarily qualified to give advice but I'm of the opinion that if I post when I'm having a good day it may help some who are not, and vice versa!
Well what a week! It was challenging, demanding, tiring, frustrating, rewarding, productive and above all else, alcohol free! Today has been by far the best day and I was thinking as I drove home that I would usually 'reward' myself with a beer! But then I got thinking!
It wouldn't be a beer! It would be a bottle and a half of wine and 6 beers. Tomorrow and Sunday would be the same. I would spend all weekend making a half arsed attempt at playing with my kids who haven't seen me all week and counting the hours down until I could send them to bed and start drinking again. All the while moaning about how **** my job is and dreading Monday morning.
Sound familiar? Well tonight I'm not going to let that happen. I'm going to reward myself with the comforting knowledge that my weekend will not be full of self loathing, anxiety, anger, frustration, the list goes on...........
I've had a nice meal, downloaded a film from the iPad and just made myself a nice cup of tea. You never know, might even get a wink from Mrs Julynine!

That's awesome!!
Day 5 here and I needed that. I am having a craving day because it's Friday which usually leads to having a drink asap after work. Not tonight, going to go shop, clean house and sleep like a rock after reading.

Hello-
Good for you, I am glad you're enjoying your alcohol free life. This is day #5 for me and I'm amazed at how good I feel and how much energy I have to do the things I want to do. I haven't been drinking much for the past 2 weeks and I am also losing some weight I wanted to lose. I feel proud of myself and I am proud of you, too!
