I have been tempted and have experimented with tequila this week. Let me explain.

In the past few months, there are times when I have noticed physical reactions other than the typical hangover from drinking. Believe it or not, I think that alcohol is affecting my respiratory allergies and I feel pain in the joints when I am in a drinking cycle. For example, my knees, elbows, and my hands are bugging me today. They are not swollen, as if it was gout. I'm beginning to think that arthritis is beginning to affect me, and drinking exacerbates it.

If anything, this is just another reason to not drink.

Has anyone else had similar experiences ?

i cant answer that, but iffen ya want help to stop drinking, i think ya got a whole lotta people here that'll help ya there.

When I stopped drinking, I read a lot about alcohol and was surprised to find out how much damage it causes (every organ of the body, they say).

Not sure why you're experimenting, though (?).....

When I was drinking copious amounts of beer, I would have theses sneezing fits that would go on and on for 5 to 10 minutes.
I still get pain in my joints and I've been sober almost 9 months.

If booze is causing you to have pain then look into ways to stop drinking.

With that said- when I used to drink beer it would give me a stuffy nose- maybe the hops or something.

Yes, alcohol made all my existing problems worse and created new ones

All sorts of physical issues like gut problems, joint pain, skin issues, chest congestion, all went away when the alcohol stopped.

could be allot of things, ide seek a doctor's advice.. also do note that drinking (no matter what the type of alcohol it is) dehydrates you, and thus, can cause sore achy joints.

I thought you've already come to this conclusion two hundred some-odd posts ago. What are you experimenting with? Drinking? You've got that down.

Experiment with recovery.

There a definite link between alcohol and a whole raft of health problems FDM - including arthritis. Google it.

I remember I used to play at being an alcoholic Sir Issac Newton too - 'no no madam, this bender is strictly in the interests of science...'

It was ridiculous FDM.

I'm allergic to alcohol. I break out in stupidity, shame, and remorse. The only cure for my ailments is abstenance. Sobriety looks fricking good on me - try it!
