I can't be the only person out there who relates to the words in songs when they're going through a tough time. For the situation I find myself in currently, a few have been particularly helpful. "Writing on the Wall" by Saving Jane, "My Addiction" by Sara Haze, and "This is Letting Go" by Rise Against. I hope if anybody checks them out they help you!
ABSOLUTELY. I think there are more songs about sad times than happy times.
Have you ever noticed how many songs are co-dependency based!?? Most every tear-jerker is.
Once my children took my Prince tape because I played "Purple Rain" around the clock after a break-up. They hid it behind the couch. They didn't know about the break-up--they said that it made me cry. wow.

This became my theme song for my children when leaving my alcoholic. It boosted my self-confidence in myself to keep on keeping on:
