New here...
Hey, I am new here and just wanted to introduce myself. I am a twenty nine year old (recovering) addict. I am on my tenth day of sobriety. This is quite a big deal as I have normally only managed to stay sober for a couple of days.
I would find any excuse to get high and used just about anything. At various times I was addicted to meth, cocaine, heroin and liquor. Liquor turned out to be my demon of choice.
Last year, my life came to a stand still. I was diagnosed with Hep C, tried to commit suicide, ended up in the hospital for almost a month and temporarily lost custody of my children.
I am desperate to get my life back on track and am looking for friends and a support system. I am looking for occasional advice and a possible shoulder to lean on. I am hoping I can find that here.

You can definitely find support here.
It sounds like you had a very difficult year, last year. Are you managing your HepC through any kind of treatment? Being sober will surely help with that.

I was on Pegasys for the Hep, but it turned me into a hot mess. I was really depressed, lethargic, etc. For the moment I am working on staying sober and then I might try to go back on it.
Welcome, feral. You will find a lot of support here.
I also used a lot of different drugs, funny enough I only got addicted to the legal ones (alcohol and nicotine) and they're a bear to kick. But worth it!

Feralsobriety, 10 days? You are FANTASTIC. Congratulations. I too was desparate to get my life back together. Now, 2 years sober, 10 months no crack, and 36 days no cigaettes. Lots of help here. It can be done.
Welcome to SR feral! So you have a sobriety plan? Maybe something like AA or another 12 step program? It's best not to try to stumble blindly through sobriety i find. I'm sure you'll find the fellowship and support you've been looking for here. It's a wonderful community.
