I will not drink at all, cause this is the choice I have made till they bury me :-)

Can you imagine my second weekend without alcohol. I will feel so proud of myself. I will think of all of you tonight. You inspire me with your success. And you make me accountable, cause I have to post tomorrow and say something :-) Something like: I have not drunk tonight!

I feel that if I can show myself it's possible to go out without drinking, I will never drink again.

Hi Gunner, I will be going to a sports club where people watch sport, dance, chat, some of them drink heavily. Or maybe I will be in a very busy road in town full of clubs and restaurants. I need to dance ;-) I WILL NOT DRINK ;-)

Or I might just go to the Cinema...

No matter what happens alcohol will not enter the temple of mouth. I defeated nicotine and I will defeat alcohol!

You know what I have realised...when I was drinking, I actually never had a conversation! NEVER!

I want to talk to people from now on, and also in the club there is plenty of sober people like me ;-)

I hope you enjoy yourself, icanwin. I would suggest telling your best friend before departing, to get their support. It would be a little early for me to be out on the second weekend, but if you are feeling strong enough, have at it.

I have just come back home. It's very late...

I DID NOT DRINK. And guess what...I was so happy, during and after.
I was able to chat with a nice girl who asked me out for coffee! Eh eh.
Quality of life come to me! :-)

She had some drinks but nothing much. After some time....

Her: "can I buy you ONLY one drink?"
Me: "No, thank you, I am fine"

Her:"Come, on, just one shot"
Me: "Trust me I am fine"

Her: "Not even one, why?"
Me: "Cause if I start drinking I lose control and instead I want to be able to chat with you"

Lady:"Can I buy you a coffee one of these days"
Me: "OF COURSE"

ICanWin, I knew that this would turn out like this for you, even if your AV was telling you something else. Even so, I am so pleased and happy with/for you.

Every time you do something new without alcohol, you are building a new association and a new pattern. Make sure that the magnitude of this brand new triumph, this fabulous accomplishment is savoured and enjoyed as you watch your sober muscle grow.

It looks like that Quality of Life thingy is already filling your cup. Take that coffee offer and it might just overflow. Well done!

How funny you should say that as I've been thinking of that exactly. How sad that I hardly know anything about what is going on in my friends' lives over the past few years. I was always pouring, drinking, refilling my glass (and everyone else's too so I didn't look like a total lush) & fluttering around the room from conversation to conversation not really listening to any of it. I was too busy getting wasted. I can't wait to see what happens now that i'm not drinking!
