Day 4 - Evening is coming
Hi All
Well, Its been many months since Ive reached day 4 in the past. Here I am, and wondering how Ive managed to go four days, and feeling like a miracle or mystical moment has come to pass. Ive been complaining that HP isnt present and I cant feel him but I realise that theres no way I could have gone four days. So he is here and Im happy about that.
Im not seeing clarity just yet, its a bit early but I can feel energy gathering. Its mid afternoon and Im more worried about the evening time since theres a big hole where my habit used to be. Not only when I was drinking but all the paranoia and worrying and thinking and dysfunction. I dont know what to do with the time. I have much to do but Im not yet strong enough to try and deal with all the stuff Ive been neglecting.
Poem on four days
They came just after midday
on a day when feeling old
With Angels bending near the earth,
To hear one start to grow
They came with Love and peacefulness
first softly like a stream,
by a man who suffered much
to break drink's empty dream,
They came upon earth's angry sea,
Where ships are sinking low,
Where guiding lights are far from seen,
and man is bending low.
They came with staff and rod in hand,
To heal heart soul and mind,
To fulfill the laws and promises,
I somehow left behind
They came and rest contented,
where seeds of Love are sown,
I know not when or how they'll last
God calls this day his own
Four days of passing goodness
like birds across a sky
I look and wait for more to come
In hope they'll keep me dry.

What a poet! That is beautiful!!
I pray for my sobriety today and start preparing for my sobriety tomorrow in the evenings.
Keep doing what you are doing, and I hope it will work for you - you have a lot to give this world, I can see by that beautiful poem.

I wish i had the poet's talent. I like to think we all have the poet's soul, lol! Beautiful. I love reading posts by people in very early recovery. I remember my first week. Your eyes are just opening and yes, the world is shiny and amazing. The longer your sober, the more of it you see and the more of it you're able to appreciate it but there is nothing as magical as those early moments when the fog is clearing from your mind and you are being born anew to a world you had forgotten was there. Welcome back, Seo.
