Just arrived at my vacation spot

I can do this sober! I am looking at a cabinet full of booze and my husband is going out to buy beer. Ugh. I can do this. Will follow up on this post throughout the week so I can look back and be proud!

Keep us posted. You're strong. Enjoy your time on the water. As you said, the vacation is about the fun, not the booze. Have fun!

Thanks everyone. He just got back with a huge assortment of beers. Along with him I have my kids here, my parents, brother, and my golden retriever. I'm glad my dog is here. Her and I can take walks as needed

Good Luck - think of how nice waking up each day without a hangover will be which will allow you to have the whole day ahead of you to enjoy

I feel I am gaining strength from all of you and your confidence in me. I am not afraid I will drink but that I will be sober and pissed about not drinking. Towards the end I was always getting angry while drinking, I dont need that on a vacation!

You can do this!!! Enjoy your vacation sober. One week of vacation is not worth throwing it all down the drain and starting over. I have a vacation in 2 months. I'm already happy to know i'll be able to go out running in the morning and not be hung over!!! =)

Hang in there, Ann. You've been doing SO great. Imagine what it will be like enjoying a SOBER vacation! You will build wonderful memories with your family and the best thing is that you will REMEMBER them! You don't need alcohol to enjoy this time - in fact, alcohol will RUIN it. You've worked hard for your sober time ... let that hard work be your motivation for enjoying this precious time with your family.

Remember, you don't have to drink. I always remember going abroad and my first worry would always be where the nearest place for beer was. You don't need to do that. You're free. You can just enjoy your holiday Do vent on here as often as you need to though, venting is a good coping strategy x Have fun x
