Here I am again!!
Hi Friends:
Just wanted to give you an update on my life these past months.
Son is still clean and thriving. He married in April to a great gal (thank you Lord) never thought I'd see that. He has even addressed his back child-support problems to the tune of 140,000. Interest has been accruing to the tune of 10% for years.
You won't believe what happened!! They met and he explained that he has been incarcerated, in and out since 1994. He also had sent letters each time he had been incarcerated (every time he got some sobriety he'd do this. Besides he had lots of time to write then). They checked and found that it was true, and each time he wrote he would explain he could not pay because he was incarcerated.
You would think they would say, "so?" Instead the woman said they were going to forgive the debt and close the file. I cannot believe it! They were going to take his driver's license away in September. They have now sent a letter saying they would be releasing the hold on that.
Life is good, and everything is falling in place for him. He is still working and even has a credit card again.
For the first time in many years, Mr. Dev is happy with him. He is so respectful to us. He is even taking his grandaughter fishing, swimming, to the movies, etc. She loves him and has a great time with the step children.
So, for the present, life is good for him and for us too.
The great-grandaughter is doing just great. She will be starting kindergarden in the fall. Will attach photos.
Hugs to you all. I miss you

Dev, I am so happy that your boy has found a better path and is living a life of recovery. Miracles DO happen, and I am so tickled he got his.
Special hugs and blessing to you, Mr. Dev, and your darling great-granddaughter who is triple blessed with love now.
You keep coming back now, ya hear, there are a whole bunch of newcomers who need to find hope through you, and who need to learn how NOT to put the warden on speed dial.
Love you lots, I really do.
Big hugs for all the Dev-clan.

Ann, you are so right. I really do need to take the time to come back and help others as you and others helped me.
OMG, I do have to tell them that putting the warden's phone number on speed dial is not acceptable behavior. Neither is calling the chaplin at San Quentin and having him pass a message to my son. Or theatening the entire staff because my son didn't get the books I sent him for two weeks! I was out of control! Ya think? LOL
