5 days

I have managed 5 days without a drink. I am pleased with the steps made so far on my part. reading all of your experiences, has given me courage to see this through. thank you all for that. I find, it will take one minute, hour, or day at a time. nothing more, and nothing less. Meetings are not for me, but there is a lot of comfort to be found in all of the writing here in this page.
I have read, the early stages are the hardest, most tempting times. my reply is; Yes they are.

thank you all for sharing your experiences with addiction. they have been a leaning post of mine, to finally make this decision to face my addictions and be rid of them. You all should be commended for your courage, and strength.

This is wonderful news, walkerhound. You sound determined. It was when I came here and found so many others just like me - that I finally got the strength to take action.

Congratulations on your five days! The best is yet to come.

Welcome. Five days is great. Get through the weekend, you'll have a week and a great start to your recovery journey.

By the way, my avatar, Wilma, was a lemon Walker mix.

Welcome walkerhound!

Congratulations on your 5 days - that's a great start! I took the same approach as you and just focused on getting through the next day/hour/minute. Worked for me! Keeping my stress at a minimum and coming here every day really helped, too.

Keep reading and posting - we're here for ya!
