OT/ My new fur kids
I have been down to just Pacho my shepherd/husky and My Belgian Sheepdog Shania (my avatar) after losing my other Belgian, Mitch late last July.
Well, Belgian Malinois Rescue did a car transport from Austin TX to El Paso TX of my two new Belgians!!!!
I picked them up in El Paso on Thursday June 21st.
Their names are Bosco and Chance and they have fit in beautifully. They already act like they have been here forever, and Shania is just thrilled to have Belgians to play with again!
So, here's Bosco:
And here's Chance:
Sorry two of the pics are oversize, lol
Just wanted all to see the two new additions. House is much more calm for me with the the boys here. I am busier, I am having a ball, and so are they, lol
Just wanted to share .........................
Love and hugs,

So pretty!
I have to laugh at the "house is much more calm"...because with my newest puppy addition, my house is anything but calm. Ok, ok, he's a puppy but this damn puppy is already 45 pounds of dense bulk and powerful jaw.
Like you, I am much busier, though! ; )
Welcome to the new additions!

they seem awfully well behaved!
from a 'hematoma' on his ear that was never taken care of by his other
owners. He is still thin, but not as thin as he was when turned into 'rescue.'
Bosco is a bit younger, having just turned 4. Not from his original owners,
but from the neighbors and confirmation by my vet. He was much thinner
than Chance upon turn in, some of his 'reactions' say he was physically
abused. But it is amazing how quick they are putting that behind them.
They are both very 'well behaved' IN THE HOUSE, roflmao Outside in the
yard it is FREE FOR ALL time and they all tire each other out. They are
both very respectful of Pacho, seeming to 'sense' or 'understand' that he
is an 'old man' for his age and size and that he moves 'very slow' and
they make sure they give him a wide berth and do not bump him ever.
My avatar, Shania, I got from a lady who use to be a member of this site
and was/is a Belgian Breeder, plus she does lots with her Belgians, agility
being just one of the events. She warned me, she really did that having
a Belgian was like having a Lay's potato chip "you can't have just one."
rofl I thought in my head at the time, "yeah sure, not me." WRONG.
I cannot have just one.
I am really attached to the breed, whether they are mediun/long haired
like Shania, long haired like a Teruven, or short haired like my boys, the
Malinois. There is also a Lakenois that is wiry coat. They are considered
all one breed in Europe, but here are considered 4 separate breeds by AKC.
I can tell you they are the SMARTEST Breed that I have ever had contact
with or gotten to know.
Yes I am busier. Buser teaching them new things or things they never
learned with their original owners. Belgians are a 'thinking' dog and if
they do not have something to do (a job per se) they will 'think' of some-
thing to do and I may not like it, no ..... I won't like it lmao.
Also, I learned very quickly with Shania, should they do something, any
thing, that is not acceptable, but cute and funny, DO NOT LAUGH, if one
laughs, they think human laughter is approval and I would never break
them of whatever it was they did, lol
Chance was basically a house dog, totally ignored, more like a Fixture. He
is now learning how to be a Belgian and LOVING it.
Bosco was basically either in an outside kennel or on a chain. He is however,
house broke, at least he has not made one mess in the house yet, and neither
has Chance. Bosco too is learning how to be a Belgian and LOVING IT. He
also loves that not only is he in the house, but he can be on the furniture if
'mommy' is on it, all except the 'doggie chair' that he can be on anytime, and
has pretty much taken it over from Shania, and she lets him.
I did wolf-dog rescue for years. I have always enjoyed taken an abused dog
that has been declared not suitable for adoption and turning it into a dog that
is acceptable to all. I do enjoy being able to prove a 'behaviorist' wrong, lol
and have done it MANY TIMES. lmao
So that's the history I know on 'my boys.' They sure are a great addition to
my home!!!!!!
Love and hugs,
