Alcohol & the depletion of vitamins & minerals

WOW. I never realized how deprived my body was of certain things due to my alcohol consumption. I have seriously drank almost a whole entire gallon of milk, by myself, in 24 hours! Insane.
I'm also appaled by the foods I would normally eat while drinking: chips, pizza, cheese, oh my!
I hope I can roll myself out of the bed in the morning after all that milk. Hmmm... That sounds way better than "I hope I can get out of bed in the morning without stumbling and see well enough to get my day started."

Oh yea we starve our bodies of all the things it needs drinking. Thats how I wound up being in the ICU and being told I have Korskoff syndrome or "wet brain". But by the grace of my higher power my body took the thaimine treatments and I came out of it.

Um milk lol. I love my cereal !!!

I know how you feel. I ended up in the Emergency room and the Doc ran some blood test. I was severely malnourished, my blood sugar was very low and my body had quit making bone marrow. I could hardly stand up and I was sober at the time. Wow, just think what could have happened had I continued to drink

Take care and have a great day!!

Personally, i love pizza...cheese, tomatoes and olive oil.

but i think your body does not absorb the nutrients properly with heavy alcohol consumption.
besides i would drink on an empty stomach and get all those empty alohol sugar/fat calories.

a good multi, b-complex, calcium/vitamin d is my staple and i space them out through the day.
