saturday night palsy
has anyone had saturday night palsy .i stopped drinking 5 days ago but 3 months ago i was so drunk i laid on my arm forso long i damaged the radial nerve and have lost movement in my hand could take upto 1 year to recover .any one had this and how long did it last

yeah under hospitial said could take up to year just got to leave drink alone for everything to heal nicely .did not think you could do so much damage drunk and leaning on itfor so long . anyway god is paying me back in mysterious ways.

Yes, I had this. I could not dorsiflex my left had, i.e. bend it upward, away from palmside. It was paralyzed, as it were. This took about two weeks to slowly get better. More than an inconvenience it was quite scary. But it got better. I had fallen asleep (read: passed out) in my son's small bed after reading a book to him. I slept all night with my arm flexed under me.
Give it time and keep trying to move it.

EDIT: I should add--never saw a Doc, just Dr. Internet. I'm not sure there is much they can do; the nerves can heal or re-wire a bit. Anyhow my hand is perfectly fine now.
