I'm sorry that you miss them and wow - I would miss my daughter too if I did not see her.
I cannot imagine how painful it is for you.
Are you allowed any contact with your children at all?
Have you been able to talk to anyone - professional or otherwise who might be able to help you with your feelings? Do you think that might help?
Maybe a good way to think is that everything you do from now on is for your children. Staying sober, concentrating on your health and recovery.
I wish you all the best.

Thanks, I love them but they are 7 step kids. Mom cut off off all contact but not my heart. Nothing will close down my heart even when it hurts, its better than not hurting. I can't repair the past but I can heal today and tomorrow, who knows. I won't give up on myself and my love. Probably Father's Day is a trigger but I won't push it. I'm alive, alone and sober and there is always a nightlight. I have 2 Vietnamese/Irish kids, grown and loving. I will look at the light because the dark gets me nowhere. I do believe sobriety is the door that opens all possibilities. I plan to keep that door open even when what's on the other side can be paiful as Hell. Just keep it open.
