Hang in there. I was in the same position as you just about a week ago. Waiting and waiting in ER for detox bed. Stay strong!! You'll make it through!

If your looking for detox you can find a local detox treatment place around you. It's cheaper and it works just for that. Hope the ER helps you!

thank you for your prayers and good wishes. this is the first time I've felt okay to come on here and respond. it took over 16 hours to see a doctor. after a chest xray, 3 ivs for dehydration and about 2 hours of sleep, they told me I was leaving. I was given an rx for antibiotics and had to go wait a few more hours for a prescription. Reading paperwork while waiting, I saw I have pneumonia. I'm glad they found out, but it would have been nice to know. that's how it is dealing with county. the paperwork referred detox facilities. I'm very ill, but at this point I think most of it is now pneumonia. as far as drinking, no way. I'm looking forward to feeling better and getting another meeting. having an appetite again would be nice. at least I can drink water again. everyone thank you and be healthy.

Yeah, good thing you got it checked out when you did....catching it early is key to getting well quicker. Eat uncultured active yogurt if you can....it keeps away most of the side effects from the antibiotics. Be sure to take them - and finish the prescription even if you are feeling a lot better. OK, I will stop now.

you don't have to stop. I appreciate it. Definitely will finish rx and will eat the yogurt I have once I can eat.it's been rough. I had no idea I have pneumonia. to then learn that it's aspiration-related, I likely did it when vomiting. embarrassing and I'm disgusted with myself. I will get to another meeting and keep going. what I have gone through has scared me. I know they say to never say never, I'm saying never again. I have to. this has been too awful.

Just remember....As long as you never have a drink...You'll never need a drink. Just don't pick up the first one....One day at a time...Get to a meeting when you can....And let those people help you....They've been where you are.
