that's all... who am I fooling? The entire island thinks I am a bum... I can't look people in their eyes. I haven't eaten a meal since Thursday.. Been drunk for the last week. ALOT happened... Passed out in my car, got into altercations. Got to go to work tonight going through withdrawals.

A friend took me to church to pray this morning. I think I am going to try that route. Counseling tomorrow, probably admittance too...

Pray for OV PLEASE!!!!

Hey OV,

You're in my prayers. My recovery is based on a 32 week prayer retreat. It's working very well for me, but I know other things such as AA work very well for others. I guess we all have to find what works for us.

I'm sober nearing 2 months using Rational Recovery (free)....on the site there's a "crash course"..I read it daily. It's one method some of us are using here on SR. It's focus is on the addictive voice. (also called AVRT)

Hi Ovrock,
So glad you came onto SR and told us about your relapse. This is a good sign. Use how bad you are feeling to strengthen your resolve to not drink.
All problems are made worse by alcohol. Get a program and follow it.
Keep reading and posting on SR.

ov, I'm guessing your friend who took you to church doesn't think you're a bum. Just someone who needs some help right now. You're lucky to have that... it's such a good place to start. best wishes.

OV - imagine you prove everybody wrong and walk through the island sober. Imagine all the horrible things they will say - he looks great, no more staggering or slurring, he looks slim, OMG he's not a drunk.

I have yet to find a recovered person who is not considered an upstanding role model in the community!
