Day 8
Things on myself is going pretty well. Trying to learn WordPress now which will be an up high battle. Started a little late on it but better late then never. I hit the gym yesterday and will be pretty sore later on in the day. I enjoy the soreness of a workout. Can't do that when drunk that's fore sure. I'm back to eating healthy now. Had 3 whites and 1 whole egg, low cal bread, avocado and laughing cow cheese sandwich. There is a whole pizza in the frig but I'm trying to lose 20 pounds and will only hold me back.
The one problem I have is facebook. Not on post and reading other people's post but those addictive games on there. Once I start, it's really hard to stop until I finish what I'm trying to do on them.
Anyway that's whats going on with me today. Not thing about alcohol yet, still have 3 more weeks for that. That's all for now. Thanks!
P.S.; I'm going to back work today.

I often hear that when first getting sober,
concentrate or work on that first before
attempting to address other issues.
Learning to stay sober a day at a time
is work in itself.
This saying "First Things First" means
exactly what what it says. Take or
concentrate on the most important
first thing in your life.
For me, learning to stay sober was and still
is top priority in my life. Then the rest will
follow.
If I can't stay sober then I won't have anything
else in my life. This has work for me for the past
21 yrs as my recovery journey continues a day
at a time.

Relative to picking up a drink and that obsession , perhaps look at the games as a way of occupying your thoughts away from that perhaps?
I know my own obsessive/compulsive behaviour extends beyond alcohol but luckily the other activities are relatively harmless ...never was a gambler etc.
aaSharon has a golden nugget in First Things First and on my own day 8 , not picking up is the first thing. The rest of a sober day , good or bad , is gravy.
