My first time.

Hello, everyone. It is my first time on this great site I just happen to find one day, but it is definitely not my first time trying to stop drinking. I am ready and I think I have come to the right place to find some great support and relate with others.

Welcome KMC,
I am sure that most of the people here can directly relate to your struggle with drinking. This site plays a huge part in keeping me sober.

Talking

Thank you, everyone, for being so welcoming. It truly gives me hope. I think in this attempt to stop my drinking I will seek as much support as I can. The posts I have been reading so have really been helping me. I look forward to checking this site each day, many different times a day.

Welocme to SR, there are a lot of good people here with good knowledge on the challanges of quitting alcohol. You can do this if you work it.

I just found this site yesterday and I know it was God sent. I only have 5 months, 6 on the 19th, but I have been a little crazy on Fri and Sat nights. It feels good to keep sharing the message to others that are on this path. It helps me to stay sober. I just left a bad relationship with the father of my children and I am going through a lot. He is still using and I am changing myself for the better. I can already see that it will be easier on me to not have him in the same house that I live in. I find when I need to do some action, I just have to do it! I can't lolly-gaggle around. It has been a struggle, but quitting drinking was a bigger one. My problems seem like a lot, but I have implemented a God Box to take care of them all. So now I see my light at the end of my tunnel.

It might be hard at first, but you can do it. All my love and prayers to you.

That's easy enough...Find some excuses not to drink....Do whatever you have to do...To not pick up the first drink today. If it works. Do it again tommow. AA has helped me do that for almost a year. Find something that works for you. And work it.

No Joke

This morning I found myself doing something rather unusual, instead of checking my fb, I came straight here. Your words of encouragement have meant everything to me in this very short amount of time. I feel a little stronger today. Thank you, all.
