Day 4

with the inspiration from all you guys i've managed another dry day. Only a couple belts of the shakes today, so i keep reading your posts and its getting easier! As im drying out im finding that my state of mind is improving. There IS hope......... Thank you all

Brilliant!

The fog is lifting, and your state of mind is improving.

We don't realize how dense that fog is until we give it a chance to lift by putting the bottle down.

It's the only way to do it.

I still remember my first Saturday morning waking up without the dread and angst of a hangover.

Day 4 for me also. Had the bottles out last night, all ready to drink, after a morning and afternoon believing I would never drink again. Had the bottles there, but couldn't break a seal. Just couldn't. Bloody grateful I didn't. I guess I'm also extremely surprised how quickly and strongly the urge came back after so much optimistic self talk that I wouldn't, and perhaps even more surprised I was strong enough to resist it. Hope I can stick it out again another day
