A week ago today

I was shaky, babbling and frantic. My friend was driving me all over the city to find me a bed at a detox. I ended up going to ER (no beds)...
Today - I feel SO much better and while I've barely slept this week, I haven't drank and I feel a small ray of hope that things will turn out alright.
Thanks SR community - you've helped me SO MUCH through week 1!

Yea, I'm kinda proud of myself - but working towards being HUMBLE about it - pride always does me in. Going to a tea-party this afternoon! ME at a TEA party.

tomsteve - yes I am doing things to change me. I'm diving into AA for real this time and I'm being diligent about not isolating - that's enough for now

Thanks Change4Good

Good for you for going to AA, it has helped millions.
Just put as much energy into it as you did imbibing, procurring and recovering, and you can't go wrong.

Remember, you never have to drink again.

Best to you.

Congrats on the week. Hope is a power thing even if the amount seems small. When I finally quit I had a great feeling of hope in a future & a purpose and I know for certain if I drink again I will lose all three.
