What a weekend
I just have to share.
First, I was sober the entire Memorial Day weekend.
I spent the whole weekend with my son. And for some of you that "know" me here, you know there's nothing better for me.
Also, I hit 3 meetings, got a great sponsor, and have already completed step 1!
Finally, I went to an incredible speaker/men's meeting last night. The speaker was fantastic, 23 years sober. I mean, this guy is really enjoying life. A genuine enjoyment that is readily apparent after listening to him for about 10 minutes.
I also met several guys and got a few phone numbers.
For the first time, in a long, long time, I think I have (dare I say it?), HOPE.
I think I'm going to make it out of this, and all it required was some action on my part (where have I heard that before
)
I have lots and lots of work to do, but for the first time, I have hope.

SD - That really made my day, to see something so positive happening in your life. I never thought I would have a life without alcohol. I don't understand why I felt that way for so long.
