Keep praying and hold on to the strength it gives you. You will need it. Let it be your rock and do not be afraid to reach out for help. We are here. God is here. Internal willpower will not get you through it but turning yourself over to a Higher Power and seeking it's help goes a long way. Congrats and keep praying and posting.

Well Done Jmb. You are now a non-drinker. Keep hold of that, tomorrow is another non-drinking day. Keep focused on the here and now.
Get out of the old routine and LIVE!

Welcome to the family. :ghug3 Just don't get any more beer. It might be a rough ride for a while but sobriety is worth the bumps in the road early on.

I came here four years ago but couldn't seem to stay sober. I felt useless and hopeless. But with the urging of my friends here and my addiction counselor I kept trying and finally 'got it'. Now I'm sober over two years and feeling quite good about my life for the first time in a long while.

You too can recover. You've come to a great place for support.

Proud of you! We all know how hard it is. So glad you're here to share what you're going through. It's much easier when you have friends who truly understand - and we all care about you.

Way to go! That's a hard thing for us to do - I couldn't even throw out a little wine left in a glass! You'll look back on this, though, as one of the best things you ever did.

Be really patient with yourself and stay close to this place - be sure to eat, too (it can really help quiet down a craving). One hour at a time, one day at a time.... you can do this!

jbm1954, I found lasting sobriety in the fellowship of Alcoholics Anonymous.

Quitting is one thing ... staying quit is a whole different animal.

All the best.
