New here today...need to know I'm not alone
Hi....I'm Carol...on this April 21st (my b'day) I quit after 12 years of drinking and also 12 years of seeing an abusive narcissist and enabler. Double whammy addictions that were killing me!! I'm on this road alone so I'm glad I found you. I have no other support, quite the introvert loner. I'm doing all the right things..diet, etc. and cognitive methods. I struggle with PAWS some days. BTW I'm 63. Thanks for being here and thanks in advance if anyone replies....I appreciate you.

Your not alone
I came here a while back and one of the first things someone suggested to me (her name was Carol too) was to read 'Under the influence' check that spelling because Im on the iPad.
It is a good book and pretty cheap to pick up.
Stick around, there are lots of good people around here...

You're definitely not alone here
You'll find a lot of support - congratulations on your sober time too
This is the best link for PAWs I know of - some nice tips for dealing with it here:

Hi Carol,
Welcome to the forum. You are certainly not alone. I am one year sober on Wednesday with the support of AA and this forum.
I have got a lot of help here, people explaining to me what I was/am going through. I didn't suffer from physical withdrawals but the mental roller coaster would have bee a lot worse without the support of people who u dear stand what you are going through.

Welcome to SR!
You are sober a little over one month, I doubt you have PAWS yet, but you are in early recovery. Give yourself 6 more months so you can heal better. After one year, I feel as if I am still healing from all of the self abuse. You will be okay, in time.
Have you read Alcoholics Anonymous? It's online. Maybe you'll relate to something in there. You will be able to relieve your self-centered fears if you want to.
Glad you are here!
