day 9
hi, i was prescribed xanax .25mg x 2 daily, almost immediately i started taking more than prescribed and found some "bars" from a friend, my usage peaked at about 3-4mg per day, my xanax journey lasted for 6 weeks, my "bars" supplier passed away 2 weeks ago today so i decided to take what i had and then quit, i'm now clean for 9 days, i've read a lot about withdrawal on the internet, my withdrawal symptoms seemed to peak on the 3rd day, after the 3rd day i drank 1-2 beers a day after work to help with the symptoms, i'm no longer experiencing nervousness or sweating, i have mild insomnia but it's getting better
my question is, i was on this crap for only 6 weeks, do i have this thing beat or can i expect more withdrawal?

I'm not sure about Xanax but i know it took about 2 weeks until i felt physically right after quitting alcohol. Mentally i'm still not ok as i am quick to snap then suddenly be ok and have other Post Acute Withdrawl Syndrome. 6 weeks seems like long enough to be physically addicted so i would think that physical withdrawl would last as long as someone addicted for a longer period.

thanks GRITS, i've never did drugs in my life until this xanax, i didn't know what to expect since i have no history of drug abuse, but i've read some real horror stories online about xanax, particularly quitting cold turkey the way i did, i'm feeling normal so i hope it's over
