My husband and i are moving into the "big city" (Milwaukee) next weekend and we stopped by our future duplex apartment to drop off a desk in the basement. Our new neighbors were hanging out in their back yard so we introduced ourselves. They offered us a beer and i answered quickly with "we don't drink" which, being a young couple moving to a hip area of Milwaukee, must have seemed quite odd 'cause i swear they looked a little taken aback. In swoops my husband, my knight in shining armor, my hero, with "hey! At least you know we're not beer bandits!" Quick laughs, conversation moves on.

So, i met my new neighbors and they know we don't drink. Phew! I'm gonna have to remember that beer bandit line for the first block party.

That's great Grits....Glad you laid down the law....I would guess there is a ton of good AA in that town...The Beer Capitol of the USA.

Moving is exciting! Have you checked out a nearby meeting yet??

Found a lot of close by meetings including some alumni meetings for where i went to rehab. I look forward to having to having so many meetings avaliable and such a wide variety of meetings.

It really is. Milwaukee is a helluv a place to sober up but there's a lot of resources. I mean, everything here revolves around beer. Every damn thing. Then again, if i can sober up here, i think i can sober up anywhere!

Good point Grits....I live in a great town too....I probably have 10 different meetings I can go to within a fifteen minute drive...I think I was planted here for a reason.
