If you find the answer to this question - write a book about it. You'll be set for life!

I have no idea, but I imagine it has a lot to do with the ego and self confidence. It takes a lot of self confidence to say I was wrong, and let's do something different.

Or like, in a bad relationship, what makes the person finally leave and not go back, not change their mind to go back?

They will leave and not go back when they have had enough. Once that point is reached, it doesn't matter what the other person does because we are just done and will NOT go back, period.
