Cheeseheads.....

Is it just me or coincidence that I have met a lot of people from Wisconsin on this website. We are the beer capital of the US!! Maybe not so proud of that but it is what it is. Just wanted to give a shout out to my fellow Wisconsinites. I hope you are all doing well in recovery. Big Duke is on day 2 again.

In the short time I've been here, I noticed that there are a lot of Pennsylvanians.
I think we can give you a run for your money.

LOL.

I would be no where near where I am today if I didn't move. The mountains of North Carolina are my peace and happiness. I do admit though that the brutal cold and snow of the 2010 / 2011 winter helped make up my mind.

If you think I'm a deserter, I wonder what you think of Favre! Played for our ultimate rival, the Vikings.

Nope, we are called SMART.

Got away from the humidity, snow, and COLD. Haven't been back since
I left in '79, however, our family still has our 4 season Packer tickets,
roflmao, and the nephews use them regularly, unless my Sister and I
choose to go to a game (outside of Lambeau field, lmao).

I paid my dues, lol I was at the 13 below zero playoff game with the
Cowboys.

One of my daughters, s-i-l and 2 grand daughters still live in good old
Wisconsin. My body and my health just cannot take the Wisconsin
climate any more and hasn't been able to for quite some time now.

I have very old (like me) life long friends, that take great delight in
coming here to visit me, lmao As a matter of fact, 2 of them have now
bought homes here and will be part of our latest influx of 'snowbirds.'
and no this is not Florida, lol

On a more serious note, I don't believe that Wisconsin has any more
drunks than any of the other states, it just may seem that way. Wis-
consin sure doesn't have near as many breweries as it did when I was
growing up, lmao.

On a side note, Detroit gives Philly a real good run for their money
when it comes to boarded up windows. Sheesh, was there last fall
for a few days to visit a friend who was sick and I was so sad to see
what has become of a beautiful city.

Anyway, there are some excellent AA meetings throughout the state
of Wisconsin, and if you are using that means to get into recovery I
am sure you will find some that you 'fit' at. I also believe there are
some SMART meetings there also, but only in the larger cities like
Madison and Milwaukee.

Oh and before my sister leaves every late fall for a warmer climate
(Florida) she sends me my 'yearly care package' of cheeses and
lots and lots of Bratwurst and my favorite summer sausage, roflmao

I enjoyed my many many years living there, but I have also enjoyed
my years living elsewhere (especially after I got sober in '81).

Enjoy Wisconsin!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Go Packers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Love and hugs,
