not exactly a newcomer anymore

been awhile since I've posted but wanted to say thanks for the help. It's two years today.. life still getting better with each passing day.

thanks all! for me it's been not just accepting my fate but embracing a lifestyle that is much less painful and not filled with shame and guilt. It's taken a lifetime to get to this point (somewhat sadly) but as they say "better late than never".
AA has been my road once again but without the resentment this time.
I now try to be happy for the things I have (health, friends, dignity etc) and not dwell on the one thing that I was obsessed with for so long, being that I can't drink like a normal person..
In the big picture it seems a fair trade off..
thanks again, this forum helped a lot in the beginning and I'm glad to be able to still come and share.

That makes a big difference.....I was blessed I knew nothing about it when I walked through the doors of AA....I had the gift of an open mind. As well as the gift of desperation....Happy Two Year Birthday to you!
