Tornado

Today is the one year anniversary of the F5 tornado that devastated the city and people of Joplin, Missouri. Obviously a wide range of emotions are attached to this date. So many lost so much - much of it undescribable.

What a difference a year makes. Rather than drowning myself in vats of wine, which really escalated after the storm, I now embrace each day and the beauty of both the good and the bad. Serenity and calm are now much more prevalent than obsessive thoughts and unstability.

Thank you SR. Sobriety is so worth the effort.

Humbly and hearfelt,

Tammi

And congratulations on your sober time!

My cousin and his 2 kids lived through the Joplin tornadoes. Cousin works for the TV station, saw some horrific things.

I'm glad you're embracing the good, and from what I've seen from my cousin, there is a lot.

No one can take away the devastation that was caused, but I totally admire you and others who are taking a tragedy and turning it into good stuff.

Hugs and prayers,

Amy

I'll never forget the story of Will Norton, pulled from his car right after graduation. Some great stories of triumph, though. Glad you are winning over alcohol Tammi - proud of you.

I went through Hurricane Hugo in Puerto Rico and the damage was incredible....Even though I was drinking...I'm still amazed at how people can pull together after something like that...It's beautiful...Glad you are doing well NBC....Keep moving forward.
