Day 3 after a relapse. It was somewhat minor, but a relapse is a relapse.
Feels good to be sitting at the computer clear eyed and bushy tailed at 4:30 in the morning. This was my ritual with you guys, and I look forward to spending the next bit of time checking in with everyone.
Good wishes everyone. I have missed you. :ghug3

Instant. . .I had champagne on Mother's Day. Like an idiot. Wasn't the best way to celebrate being a mother to my kids. Progressed a bit in the days that followed.
It is hard to come back after a relapse. It feels like letting myself and others down. But all I can do is get back up.

I really do think you need to have a solid plan. Quitting drinking alone does not cut it for 99% of us. It lives all the other behaviors there...so work on a plan for recovery instead of just putting the booze down.
Glad you had the courage to post!
Welcome back!
I'm glad you're back and working on recovery.
Can you figure out what happened that made you think that having a drink on Mother's Day would be okay? The best thing you can do is to learn from this and move on.

Whoot whoo! Let the growth and healing rock on!
Coming back is hard and there isn't much literature on shame and regret. But the good news is your back, and if you want to stay stopped I suggest diving in the big book and getting a sponsor, going to meetings, getting a commitment, USING THE PHONE.....Only suggestions that I highly recommend, because you see, I did the revolving door recovery thing for twenty years......before I was so beat, so homel;ess, so mentally challenged, so sad, so so so desperate that I would have done absolutely anything to CHANGE....and there lies the key to this recovery thing....CHANGE, CHANGE OR DIE... God bless and welcome back.......
