A positive post

This weekend I ran my first ever half marathon in 1:55:20. I could have never accomplished this if I was still caught in the alcohol trap. After finishing the race I had never felt more alive. What an awesome feeling! A runner's high is 9 million times better than a drug high.

Just wanted to share (brag). Thanks to everyone for their posts, which have helped me through a lot of hard times.

Wow, that's really impressive! I can barely run a mile, but I'm working on it. I'll bet your body performs so much better now than when you were drinking.

Thanks, everyone! Running has been a huge part of my recovery. A lot of times when I thought about going out and getting booze, I'd go for a run instead. Even if I'd already had my scheduled run for the day in. It's nice to have a healthy addition now.

Yay you! I love to run and used to be quite good at it, but alcohol has really affected me. Running is actually one of the big things motivating me to sober up, so your post is awesome.

BTW: 1:55:20? That's great!
