day 2

feeling a bit better today. at least the hangover is finally gone-i'm stunned that it wasn't more serious with the amount that i consumed the other night. i've made it to two meetings. i had to white knuckle the wheel on the way home to avoid hitting the liquor store....i'm off tomorrow and this is typically a really huge drinking night for me. i'm so thankful for all the support i've gotten from many of you on here. i'm sure that later on tonight when i'm wide awake, i'll be back again.
thank you, everyone.

Glad you're feeling a bit better Changer. Do stick by SR if you're struggling. I've learnt so much from just being here when I haven't known what else to do x

It's progress, changer - and it'll be a bit easier each day.

Keep up with the meetings...See if you can get some phone numbers so you can call people and hang out here. I don't know if you have a Big Book or not...Here you go if you don't...It's a good read. It saved my life.

Hang in there, Changer. The first few days are rough. Keep posting and reading and making it to meetings. Also remember that the pain of not drinking fades but the pain of drinking stays with you. You have the power to be sober. Keep moving forward, minute by minute.

Aggggg the thought of the hangover. Thankfully no more of making myself so sick. You can make it.

Sleep comes eventually, Changer. Do a forum search and you'll find tons of advice threads devoted just to sleep. It's one of those things that can really derail early recovery so look into those threads and give some of those techniques a try.
