OT - Solar Eclipse

This Sunday, May 20th. Visible in parts of the western US and much of Asia. I have a place all picked out to go for photographs. Anyone else out there "in the path?"

In case you haven't heard about it, here is the story:

Solar Eclipse 2012: 'Ring Of Fire' Set To Appear May 20

I need to wait a few days to check weather, but I'm thinking about heading to Albuquerque. I have free flights and hotel rooms so all I have to do, is just do it

Cool! What luck that the sun and moon will align over your house after you've read the manual and perfected your skills! Can't wait to see what you get!

Well, I'm going to drive about 50 miles to a little spot I know up on a bluff so I can get Mt. Shasta and the eclipsing sun in the same frame. And, I bought one of those GoPro cameras a couple months ago, so I'm going to attempt to set it up to do a time lapse. So, I will have two cameras going at once, lol.

I am excited because NM is supposed to have great views of it. I have to work but have my stuff all set. Thanks for the reminder.

Hey scrambled, check the link I posted. It shows the "path" of best viewing. Of course the weather has to cooperate, too.........

Sorta off topic but if you're interested, Venus will be transiting the Sun on June 6. I'm told it's a once in a life time event for us humans! I'm hoping to get to an observatory to see it.

Love from Lenina

Cool, I saw the France one in 1999 (which was in clear skies), and the Shanghai one in 2010 (which was rained out), as well as a partial one in 2006 in Manchester
All were amazing experiences, and if you can get to see one, do
