How do you go about finding the right Sponsor at AA for you? Do people offer to be your Sponsor? Do you ask someone? Will they be someone you can be comfortable with talking about everything at any time?
I cannot get to AA until I get home in June so just wanting to ask how everyone else found their Sponsor's.

I knew someone through a mutual friend, we attended a few meetings, got along well... and then I just asked him if he would mind being my sponsor. He was happy to oblige. That was 5 months ago... been sober ever since.

This is a great site for a first meeting...They cover sponsorship and include an AA pamphlet on sponsorship. You can learn a lot here. Happy reading.

Your First AA Meeting<

If you have till June...I'd start reading the first 103 pages of the Big Book. A couple times wouldn't hurt. That's the meat and potatos of the program..And The Doctors Opinion gives you a good idea why we drink like we do.
