Angry sick of being a newbie.

I don't even know how many times I've tried to quit....the one bright point is that the last time I lasted a solid month....let the detox begin! Puke.

Well, this can be the last time if you want it to be.

I'm sure that there is nothing I can say that you don't already know!
How did you feel in that month? Try to use that memory to spur you on to succeed.
1 month can easily turn into 2, then 3 and so on!
I hate feeling sick... I always used to feel sick when I was drinking, It was just awful. That is just one of the tools I use to stay off the jungle juice!
Oh, and the liver disease/malnutrition/hepatitis didn't help either!
Good luck to you x

You are not the only one. Day 1 again for me too after a very bad relapse last night.

Hang in there!!!

Better to have tried than to never have tried at all.

I look at it this way.....

Bottom is when you realize you have a problem. You already have done that. Just because we zig zag back does not mean we are on the wrong path.

Again.... Hang in there. I will be doing the same.

Don't beat yourself up, just try to re-align your thinking towards alcohol back to how it was pre- relapse.

Try to remember how much better you feel when you are sober.

Hi mesh,
I lost it all too and hit rock bottom. I took an honest look at myself and realized that I want to actually have a life. Give it another shot and don't give up!

I was there a year ago. On Wednesday, it will be one year that I have stayed stopped. Life, well, I was alive and everything was a mess. Today, the horizons are brighter.
What I know is if I can do it, anyone can, too. I use the steps of AA, after "fighting" them for 25 years. I used every excuse I could, then I finally worked those steps with someone who knew how to guide another through them. What an astounding change!

I hope you find a program of recovery that works for you, too!

What an awesome decision you've made! Stick around here. Support is definitely in order.

Best wishes,

to me bottom is death. the decision has to be made to step off the elevator goin down and get on the one goin up. i tried to quit many times. then the pain of getting drunk/high exceeded the pain of reality. thought about everything i tried before to quit, then narrowed my choices down to 2: go to AA and do what was suggested or kill myself. i chose AA, and if i didnt see/feel anything in 90 days, onto the other choice. that was a lil over 7 years ago. gettin clean and sober was a bi**ch. stayin clean and sober has been easy. all i had to do was trust God, clean house, and help others.

Know that you have it within you to make all the positive changes you need in order to get and stay sober.

I had to learn that the hard way by nearly killing myself with my way way out of control addiction.

Hi Mesh. You can do it this time, and never look back. I drank all my life & now have over 4 yrs. My life was a total disaster, but I rebuilt it. Remember that alcohol is not your friend or a buffer against life. It's out to destroy you. Don't let it. Start over and make it out this time. We know you can.
