Offered many drinks last night
I work one night a week waiting tables and usually spend most shifts on pills and/or drinking. Last night I got to work and we had a new computer system. The evening was a nightmare! I kept thinking how thankful I was that I had a clear head bc it would have been so much harder and more confusing had I been high! Anyway, the bartender knows me well and the more hectic the night got he kept offering to make me "mistake" drinks to hide in kid cups and at the end of my shift when I sat down to eat he was ready to pour me my usual drink. I of course said no thanks. I didn't even want a drink which surprised me. Go me!
When I stood by my choice to stick to my plan for the first couple of times, I could feel something changing in me each time I did it. Because you were sober, you were able to handle this new computer system and show the bartender, and yourself, that you have skilz. You are breaking old patterns and associations and replacing them with satisfaction and pride. That is a great feeling - I find it addictive!
