Al-Anon
So my boyfriend just came into my office at work (we work together) and wanted to know when WE would be taking my son to my moms to spend the night. He knows I made plans with myself to go out tonight and now he wants to involve himself.
I said, "When are WE going to go take DS to my moms?"
He said, "I am not going to drink tonight."
I said, "I am going to go to Al-Anon and a movie alone." (firmly)
He stared at me, and said, "Sure you are."
I said, "Yes I am. I don't care if you don't drink tonight (he will), but I need to go to Al-Anon."
He walked out after confirming I would be coming home first.
I AM GOING TO AL-ANON TONIGHT SR FRIENDS ... nervous & excited

Okay so I went to Al-Anon. Didn't make it to the movie because I was too dang emotional after the meeting. LOL. I WAS going to go see Dark Shadow, will probably go see it this weekend, maybe tomorrow in the morning before I go get my son. :P
I am very glad I went to Al-Anon though. It was a small meeting but I felt like the people there cared. I will probably try another meeting, but go back to that one periodically. It was nice to see others and get support although when I shared I could barely talk because I was really emotional.
Told my ABF that he has a choice, if he doesn't give up the alcohol by August and start seeking help, I will leave.
Love goes out to my SR friends as I don't think I could have ever begun to understand this journey without all of you!
