Rough Day!

Geez, I thought the effects of alcohol were bad for my body. I'm three months into my sobriety and 4 wks on Effexor. I started developing bad infections on my face ( and I'm a skin care specialist ). I google Effexor and acne and tons of forums pop up. What is this crap these Dr.'s and Pharmacists are giving us for depression/ anxiety.

Anywho, I'm going to school to be a pharmacist as well. How am I supposed to hand out this medication with all of these weird side effects that aren't even listed. Moral of the story, I am struggling today as I look and feel like hell from this prescription. I never looked this bad from drinking. I just want to give up and go to the liquor store. My eye is swollen shut from Effexor and I look like a pirate LOL.

At this point, I don't know what to do or how to deal with it. My boyfriend doesn't understand that I just need to be alone and sort through things. One voice in my head is telling me "You tried, and feel/look worse... screw it" and another voice is telling me that "This too shall pass"

What a horrible day. Thank you for listening

Maybe you could talk to your dr and switch to another antidepressant.

I hope you feel better.

Hi. sorry you are having a bad time. I don't know the drug to which you refer, can't you get something else? Are you sure it is side effects of the drug and not withdrawal? I have been sober over 5 weeks and I still feel bad, but you know the worst thing is taking a drink. Sorry I can;t help you with the skin problem. Don't let it get you down, stay focused on soberity, please.

Shame about your boyfriend but I find them useless as well:0

Don't go for booze, as you said yourself, this too will pass.
