I said i would let you know

I joined a few days ago and explained that i wasn't a day to day drinker. I was a drinker who couldn't control herself when the opportunity to drink did present itself..

I Said i would come back and post when i felt that twang...today is one of those days. I have just got home from work and i would normally go get my child but they are staying over at a grandparents house tonight so i have nothing to do until tomorrow afternoon. Husband is away and this is exactly the type of situation wher i would go, well might have a beer and listen to some tunes and relax a bit, i mean why not, i rarely get the chance to have time to myself...

Only problem is i know that beer would turn into 15 and one hell of a hangover and regret tomorrow...

Not going to do it!!!!

Keep strong. Having time on your hands is a big trigger, excellent you posting like this xx
How about tackling something you've put off for a while? Spring clean your daughters bedroom, make a couple of nice dinners to freeze? Meet up for a coffee with friends?
Plan how to fill your time, and that way it won't drag.
Don't drink.... You sure as hell will regret it xxx

Tomorrow self loathing or clear unbridled pride.
Good luck.

Good job beerbottles. I think if you get in the habit of not drinking in times like these the easier it will be for you in the future. Before you know it your first inclination wont be to have a few six packs and to do something constructive instead.

Well done, going to the beach sounds a much better option than poisoning yourself with alcohol.

Time for a nice lavandar bubble bath, some candles safely placed and lit, a facial, self-manicure, personal time that is personal. A gift to yourself.

Curl up with a good book, some caffeine free tea, more candles safely placed....

Maybe a women's movie like The Notebook, start a blog, join a Mommy Group Online.

Personal time doesn't mean you need to damage your insides anymore! Come up with your own list of things you can do when you have that down time!

Hugs,

I'm glad you got through it.

Being alone used to be a huge trigger for me to drink. Now, I cherish my alone time and use it to recharge myself spiritually.

Great job, beerbottles!! It gets a tiny bit easier each time, and you're going to feel so good (and proud of yourself) waking up without the same old hangover.
