Help

I'm so close to using. I was close last night but left a message on my sponsor's phone and exercised. This is progress for me. I thought I would wake up feeling better but it's all back again--the voice saying "what's the use? you're never going to get better anyway. You can't tolerate this pain for much longer...." My problem is that since stopping--19th of April--there has been no improvement in how I feel; in fact, the opposite. I'm exploding inside, crying, on my knees praying to whatever God is out there, and fearing that I'm going to give in and use again.

You are forgetting that you did not use and that is a victory over your addiction....everyday that you stay sober is a good day, it might now feel good today but you are doing it and you should be so proud of yourself.

You can do all things through Christ who strengthens you..

Just don't pick up....Keep praying and call your sponsor again....If you don't get an answer...Call someone else on your list of numbers...If you don't have that....Hang out here. Every day you don't use you are getting better...Don't give up what you got.

Do the same thing today that you did yesterday. The bottom line is that you did not use. It will get easier in time.

Exercising is good. Once you stop drinking, there are usually other changes that you need to make in your life in order to begin to recover. You can learn to deal with the emotions that you`re feeling and it will get easier.

From what I understand, it can sometimes take a while to show improvement in how you feel.
Keep it out of your system and give your body & mind more time to get well.

Maybe consider seeing a doctor, who could prescribe some medication if you are depressed.

Thanks everyone. You made me feel better. It's easy to forget when I'm in pain that the main point is I didn't use. My sponsor left me a phone message that my calling her and exercising are a huge improvement. I took positive actions, contrary to my usual, to get myself through the craving. We're going to see each other at a meeting tonight. thank God! I feel so shaky.

I felt like you did in the beginning of recovery. You can get through this.

I strongly suggest you work those steps, that is your new solution!

I will have one year in one week and I never thought I could do this! I know you are stronger than I am. Stay stopped, work the steps, get to a meeting and help another person. It is in helping others that I have been able to gain my own strength to continue forward.

well done on not picking up. YOU are worth it!
