Six months
Six months
Today I have six months of sobriety. It feels really great. I don't struggle with constant thoughts about drinking or not drinking. However I do still get these delusional thoughts that I can drink normally, or without consequences. I ignore them, or argue against them in my head until they go away. Most of the time, I feel great about the changes I've made and I'm trying to make even more (eating healthy, working out, and next up is a change to my sleep schedule/routine!) I feel like if I can do this, I can do anything.
Thanks to everyone on SR for your support. Your help has been invaluable to me. I wish everyone peace, love and sobriety.

Well done, Pigtails, I remember when you were just a young 'un, just getting dry behind the ears. I am very happy for you and your achievement. Well done!
Thanks for this post too, and remember that so many are reading this and taking inspiration from you.

Pigtails, that's amazing. I am proud of you as well, and I remember you from one of my previous sober episodes. I hope that I can say that I am sober 6 months someday.
It is those thoughts that I can drink "normally" that keep causing me to slip. I will try to remember what you said. Way to go..

Congrats Pigtails,
I was thinking just today how great it is not to have to endure constant cravings for alcohol.
The freedom that it brings to your life. I reminded myself to be very grateful for that especially after reading newcomers who are struggling badly with cravings.
Yes the sleeping, I think when I get my sleeping in order I will be nearly perfect. LOL

That's great at what time in the early days did you start to have more confidence that things were going well.
So pleased for you. Do you find good things happening as a secondary consequence for you?
John.

That is an amazing accomplishment and I hope to emulate you! When you have six months under your belt you know you are really getting somewhere. Heck, when many of us have a week under our belt we feel like we are really getting somewhere! LOL Keep fighting the good fight and keep posting. Success stories such as yours and your honesty that all is not perfect is what I think we all need to hear. The Pink Cloud is great, but it is also nice to hear the raw truth that life is not always a bed of roses but that needn't mean we need to drink on it. Congrats, pT! =)
