Holy Cow ... 60 DAYS!!!
Two months ago, I was lying on my couch unable to move. It was 7:00 a.m. and I was already drunk and wondering how I was going to get through another day. Made some phone calls, went to detox, and made a decision to surrender. I was done. Really and truly done. I wasn't waving just one white flag ... I was waving 20.
Today I have 60 days of sobriety and all I can say is WOW!! I haven't put 60 days together in a very long time. My husband has his wife back. My kids have their mother back. I'm active in the community, have a job I love, and new sober friends. The best thing is that I have no desire ... AT ALL ... to drink. Life isn't perfect, of course, and there are always going to be rough moments, but they are much easier for me to manage as a sober person.
I am thankful ... to God, to AA, to loving friends and family, and to SR. Today is gonna be a great day.
