First Night Without!
After advice on this forum, I've decided tonight is my first night without!
The cutting back has been helpful over the last week, mainly to adjust my thinking, and shift after work behaviour patterns. Now I'll enter the 30 day abstinence period recommended to reassess my relationship with alcohol and determine if total abstinence will be a must do for me or not (depending what the professionals say about it).
My intention has been just to share my journey, not condone drinking. Its up to each individual based on their situation etc. Hope those that feel I am (by simply sharing my experience) will keep an open mind to my intentions to just get information and support.

Yay, you, Chakaido! I am glad that you are continuing to post, because yes, it is helpful for each of us to share with the cloud crowd how things are going. I agree with you wholeheartedly, we are on our own private journey. Travel well.
C---I have read through your previous threads, and was struck by the many comments you made about alcohol leading to negative things in your life. You felt that it was harming you. I guess I am just curious as to why you would moderate down the road? If it poisons your sense of responsibility, and prevents you from being who you want to be, why even have a few drinks?
Please don't take this as me challenging your decisions, or as having an agenda that I am masking with questions. I truly am just curious.

Chakaido , I think you will indeed learn things from this decision, though I will not pretend to know what. I hope that your journey is less tortuous than it was for so many off us on this forum, regardless of where your path takes you.

Your own body will tell you soon enough just how dependent on it you are.
Keep us posted in this thread, as it may be helpful to you down the line to go back and re-read your own posts when the 30 days are up. I myself had an uncanny ability to 'forget' why I stopped as soon as any trial runs were over.

Two questions....Who is the cloud crowd?...And who are the professionals that are going to determine what you do if you make it to 30 days?
Good stuff!
I did the same thing ...decided on a "30 day break".
At the end of 30 days I was just starting to feel really good for the first time in many many years. So, I re-upped for another 30 days. Here I am almost a year since I quit and I'm now very happy knowing that I will never drink alcohol again.
Good luck!
