New to forum!
Just wanted to introduce myself and say hi all!
And get a few posts under my belt, lol.
Been sober a little over 9 months now and very happy to be on the long road to recovery. And also very happy to have stumbled onto this forum
Off to a noon meeting now-- will be back soon!

Well, I'm hardly an expert 
but since you asked, I would say (in no particular order):
1) get a sponsor (and use them!)
2) go to meetings, every day if possible
3) listen to what people are saying (I thought I already knew everything, lol)
4) be willing to get better
5) accept a higher power into your life
