I truly don't think about people coming here and still drinking...I guess it just pains me to think of anyone still going through the agony of trying to quit. I don't think anyone comes here to do "research", anymore than they would go to AA meetings because they had nothing better to do.

Personally, after over 30 years of continuous sobriety, I'm afraid I would be too stubborn/embarrassed to "come back". So, I give you credit for not giving up the desire to quit drinking.

An old-timer used to speak often at meetings in North Jersey...he was well-known and liked in the rooms. I've never forgotten the way he closed: "If you are searching for sobriety, I pray God you find it. If you have found sobriety, I pray God you keep it."

I'm drinking. I'm not drunk. I don't get drunk anymore. I had a few weeks sober, was starting to feel better and then picked up. I hate it, it has devastated my life and i want sobriety more than anything.

I do go to AA, i have a wonderful sponsor, i went through rehab a couple months ago and cant believe im drinking again.

Maybe i'm just hopeless.
