If you could tell a new person ONE thing......
If you could tell a new person ONE thing......
What would it be?
What experience/guidance or piece of advice would you give to a new person here looking for help?
I am only about 10 months sober myself, but from me it would be,
"It is NOT hopeless and your life CAN change. Please trust in that."

Don't give up, and if you slip up, pick yourself back up, find your sponsor or someone you can rely on, and get back on the sobriety wagon. Don't let yourself think you failed because its why people go back to the abuse of substances. YOU ARE WORTH IT.

For me, it is all about not trying to control things that I can't control.
Accept the things I cannot change.
Have the courage to change the things I can.
And, have the wisdom to know the difference.
