Can I suggest another perspective? Try to remove the emotion from the situation. The guy be really bad at expressing himself and thought he was helping you, not putting you down. No one is perfect. Why not give it a shot at starting the Steps with him. You have nothing to lose. You don't have to LIKE your sponsor. It can be hard to get a 'good' sponsor that you click with because everyone is busy with kids, family, sponsors/sponsees and life in general. Maybe he expressed himself really badly, but if he's offering to take you through the Steps, take him up on it and get through it as quickly as you can. You're building a resentment here and that's only going to lead you back to drinking. Keep an eye out for someone else who might be a good sponsor for you while you work with this guy.
